PDP, KEY TO NIGERIA’S SOCIOECONOMIC RECOVERY, SAYS AKOBUNDU
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senatorial candidate for Abia Central District, Col. Austin Akobundo (Rtd) says the 2023 general elections will signal an end to spiraling insecurity and dwindling economic fortunes in Nigeria, as the people can no longer tolerate the hardship brought on them by the present administration.
Akobundu made the revelation in Ikot Ekpene, where he witnessed the Akwa Ibom Northwest District Senatorial campaign flag-off and flag presentation rally of the PDP, where his colleague and former National Legal Adviser of the party, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, was presented with the party's Senatorial flag.
The Abia Central Senatorial hopeful who is also the immediate past National Organizing Secretary of PDP, while noting that there has never been a time Nigeria was so divided and traumatized like under the Buhari administration, stated that the current APC government lacked the political will and ideas to provide solution to the country’s numerous challenges.
The PDP Abia Central Senatorial candidate, described Enoidem, the Akwa Ibom Northwest District Senatorial hopeful as a dependable ally whose experience in the Senate will add value to national conversations.
The well connected retired military officer, Akobundu, pointed out that it was time Nigerians across regions built political consensus and partnerships that will engender unity and return the nation to the good old days when people were less suspicious of one another.
Assuring that only the PDP had what is required to restore the nation’s ailing economy and stem the tide of inequalities and division, the ebullient politician called on all Nigerians to get their PVCs ready and massively mobilize their communities to vote for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in next year’s elections.
A total of 13 candidates including four House of Representatives Members and eight House of Assembly Lawmakers received the party’s flag at the massively attended event that also had the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and State PDP Governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, Pastor Umo Eno in attendance.
