MORE JOBS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR OUR YOUTHS - COL. AKOBUNDU REITERATES
As the PDP Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), continues to meet with various communities, groups, and individuals across the senatorial district, he has not relented in reaffirming his strong commitment to representing the senatorial district effectively.
In his resolve to spread this message of hope to the grassroots, he held an interactive session with the Ofeme Liberation Front at Umunkpu Ude Ofeme, Umuhu Ohuhu in Umuahia North.
Before he met with the group, he, together with members of the Akobundu Campaign Council in Umuahia North made a courtesy visit to one of the community political leaders in the area, Chief Empire Kanu, and intimated him about his plans for the people.
During the courtesy visit to Chief Empire Kanu, Col. Akobundu said, "As a political leader in this block, it would be discourteous of me to come to this area without visiting you and giving you the needed respect that you deserve." He concluded.
Moving on from there, he went ahead to meet the eager crowd of Ofeme Liberation Front who have patiently been waiting for him from noon. The ecstatic crowd, who were mostly women was jubilant as he spoke, agreeing with every point the senatorial candidate made.
"I know the problems and also know the palpable solutions to them. One out of the behemoth of problems we face in the district is unemployment for our youths and children who are graduates. This problem has given birth to restiveness in our zone, with so many of our sons and daughter roaming the streets jobless. This issue is very clear to me and one of my legislative duties is to lobby for employment slots for my zone and I am laser-focused on that."
"This issue doesn't revolve around graduates alone, it also affects those who do not have a formal education. One of my cardinal objectives which I have also articulately outlined in my manifesto is to organize the acquisition of 21st-century skills so that what our youths will learn can seamlessly land them roles and jobs in the society."
The senatorial candidate also spoke on issues concerning infrastructure, specifically roads. He said "As your representative, adequate attention will be paid to our roads. If you go around our senatorial zone, you will find out that this issue of roads cuts across virtually all our communities in the six (6) LGAs, of which my place, Ikwuano LGA is not left out. I will pay close attention to this problem and fashion out ways to provide solutions to them."
In response, the leader of the Ofeme Liberation Front, Barr. Johnson Kanu, said over the years, Col. Akobundu has always shown commitment to burning issues and a man whose words doesn't fall to the ground.
Barr. Johnson Kanu added that he has no iota of doubt that Col. Akobundu will deliver on all his promises.
The leader of the political group together with the women assured Col. Akobundu of their unalloyed support in the upcoming elections and also came together to pray for his success at the elections.
