In his words, "Ben is a son to me and whatever affects his family affects me. I have been in his shoes before having lost my father and mother, so I understand the pain he must be going through at the moment. Regardless, God gives and God takes. My message to the family of Chief Ononogbu is to take heart and be strong. By the grace of God, when it is time for his funeral, I will be available to support the family." He concluded.

Out of exhilaration at the visit of the Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, the wife of the deceased, Ezinne Rose Ononogbu heartily appreciated Col. Akobundu for finding time within his busy schedule to visit them.
