It will be penned down in the archives of history as the most memorable inauguration, when the Youths of Abia Central, numbering in their thousands turned out in mass at Group Primary School, Omoba for the inauguration of CAYSUN LGA and ward Executives in the six (6) local governments which make up Abia Central.
The dynamic Youths who disregarded a heavy downpour showed grit, bravery, and determination in their pursuit of changing the narrative of Abia Central for the better.
In his opening remarks, the ALGON Chairman and Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South, Chief Ike Anyatonwu reminded the Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, Col. Austin Akobundu of the agility CAYSUN commands. He also reminded the PDP candidate that the crop of youths that have defied whatsoever plans they had for the day just to come out and support him are youths who are sensitive and cognizant of the future of Abia Central.
In the same streak, the PDP State House of Assembly candidates for Isiala Ngwa South and North, Chief Dennis Rowland Chiwendu and Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu respectively lauded the zealousness of the youths in the support of Abia Central Senatorial Candidate. They both added that the massive turnout is already a sign that the youths of Abia Central have acknowledged the development-minded trait of Col. Akobundu and have decided that he will be their representative at the red chambers.
While addressing the LGA Ward coordinators and other executives that were inaugurated newly, the Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, Col. Austin Akobundu thanked them for accepting to work for the advancement of Abia Central.
He said the essence of assembling the LGA coordinators and Executives was to marshall out strategies and map out ideas that will advance the quest for effective representation in 2023. Col. Akobundu said the wealth of experience the LGA leaders will bring to the table will be paramount in effecting the leadership cravings of the youths in Abia Central.
Switching his address to incorporate other CAYSUN members who filled up the tents at the stadium, Col. Akobundu hammered on the political upliftment of the Youth. He assured them that he is resolute in making sure he enacts a leadership style of co-representation, making the youths a part of his leadership. He further assured them that he will not only co-represent Abia Central with them, but also make himself accessible and open to all.
Continuing his speech in his usual simplistic mien, he said "Beyond our symbiotic relationship and accessibility, I will also work assiduously to make sure Abia Central youths have access to tools/resources that will build them up, like access to soft loans for Small and Medium Enterprises. Within my capacity, I will also work on creating educational platforms that will spiral into local and national scholarships for the youths who want to develop themselves academically. When campaign kicks off officially, we would all have a round table discussion on how we will adequately galvanize these core areas, especially in the aspects of facilitating the acquiring of evergreen skills and political inclusiveness." He concluded.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Col. Akobundu Campaign council, Pastor Emeka Inyama had congratulated the newly inaugurated LGA Coordinators and Executives members for being part of the team that will usher in an era of effective representation in Abia Central. Pastor Inyama further urged them to put their experience together and harness same for the sole purpose of electing Col. Austin Akobundu to the Red Chambers in Abuja.
Giving the vote of thanks, the deputy chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Comr. Cokey Nwachukwu, described Col. Austin Akobundu as a dedicated leader whose antecedents are credible, stressing that CAYSUN will do all within its capacity to elect him to the National Assembly. He added that the Youths of Abia Central have seen a dependable leader in him and are determined to support the growth and development of Abia Central.
Members of the campaign council who graced the occasion were the Deputy Director-General, Elder Sam Njoku, the member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon Stanley Nwabuisi who represented by Hon. Chidi Johnson, the ALGON chairman and Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South, Chief Ike Anyatonwu, the coordinator of Akobundu Campaign Council in Isiala Ngwa South, Sir Emeka Achilefu, the coordinator of Akobundu Campaign Council in Osisioma, Chief Dan Onwutuebe, the coordinator of Akobundu Campaign Council in Umuahia South, Sir Tony Ezebuiro, the Ikwuano Caucus Chairman, who also doubles as the coordinator for Ikwuano, Rear Admiral Raphael Osondu, Former T.C chairman, Elder Henry Nwaoha, the Executive Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government, Chief Stephen Mpamugo, the Executive Chairman of Umuahia North, Hon. Ugochukwu Njikonye and other top stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party.
