*ABIA GUBER: COL. AKOBUNDU CONGRATULATES CHIEF OKEY AHIWE AS HE EMERGES PDP GOVERNORSHIP FLAG BEARER* 

The Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), has congratulated Chief Sir Okechukwu Ambrose Ahiwe, on his emergence as the PDP flag bearer for the March 11th governorship election in the state.

Col. Akobundu in a statement on Saturday in Umuahia called for a solidified unity amongst party members going forward, to enable a flawless victory at the general elections. 

Chief Okey Ahiwe polled 469 votes to defeat Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu (12 votes), Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (12 votes), Hon. Dr. Sampson Orji (11 votes), Senator Emma Nwaka (Nil), and emerged as the party’s governorship candidate during the primaries held at Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia. 

The PDP Abia Central Senatorial candidate commended the party leadership, stakeholders, and members for ensuring a peaceful primary election.

He urged all party faithfuls to support Chief Ahiwe’s candidature, noting that he possesses the bilateral experience of both the public and private sectors, and he is sure these experiences will be effectively deployed to the interest and development of the state. 

He said, “In every democratic contest, there must be a winner, and as far as our governorship primary election is concerned, a winner has emerged.

“I commend our party leadership, especially Governor Godwin Obaseki who presided over the elections today, and all those who played one role or the other in the processes culminating to the primary election.” 

"I, therefore congratulate the winner of the governorship primary election of our great party, PDP, Chief Okechukwu Ahiwe and I join millions of party faithfuls to give glory to God for granting us a peaceful nomination process."  

“As our party, PDP goes into a very critical election this month which will determine our collective future as a people, I wish to remind the people that PDP remains the best choice for the state."

"With Chief Okechukwu Ahiwe at the helm of affairs in the state and I, at the National Assembly representing the good people of Abia Central, our synergy will be solidified and I would have a seamless flow of representation, which will by effect, generate more developmental projects to the people of Abia Central." 

“I wish to state that my desire to seek ways to address the developmental challenges of our people and ameliorate the sufferings of my senatorial district remains unshaken."
